MQP Eagles Track Team 2019 Registration


The MQP Eagles Track Team had another great season last year, and we are excited about 2019! Our kids performed very well in the 2018 CYC Preliminary Meet and several kids earned a spot in the CYC finals. We would love to have your child join the track team for 2019. Please review the following information concerning our 2019 MQP Eagles Track Team:


REGISTRATION DEADLINE AND FEES
Deadline for Pre-K through 8th grade registration is Friday, March 22, 2019 . Please register early so we can plan accordingly for upcoming meets and coaching support needs . Fees are $50 for one runner from a family, $75 for two runners from the same family, and $100 for three or more runners from the same family. There is a non-parishioner surcharge (per sport) and a MQP facility fee (paid annually) that may be added to your registration. Your registration fee will cover facilities rentals for practices, entrance fees into meets, uniform t-shirt, equipment expenses and all CYC fees.


PRE-SEASON TRACK MEETING ON 3/25/19
There will be a general information meeting at 7:00 pm, Monday, March 25th, 2019, MQP School Library.

UNIFORMS
Uniforms will consist of a MQP track t-shirt, white or royal blue shorts, white socks and appropriate track shoes (all provided by parents except track t-shirt). For safety, all youth need proper running shoes for practices and meets.


TEAM COMMUNICATIONS
Emails are the primary means of communication. Please provide an accurate email address at the time of registration. Please check your email regularly for track updates and weather-related cancellations. We also use Team Snap for tracking meet attendance, communications, and scheduling. All parents will need to register their child through Team Snap - directions will be
provided at the pre-season meeting and by email.


PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
Weekly practices are an important part of the track program, as attendance at practices helps the coaches prepare runners for the meets and avoid injuries. Commitment to practices and the meets is especially important for runners that are part of a relay team, as members of the relay team are depending on each other to be prepared and ready for the meets. Coaches are available to work with individuals on at-home training to supplement practices as needed. We realize this is the busiest time of the year for multiple sports so if your kids can’t make it to practice but would still like to participate in the meets, please contact us and we can work something out.


SEASON OUTLINE


NEW THIS YEAR: Separate practices will be held for participants based on age.
The younger runners (PreK through 2nd grade) will practice at Kirkwood Early Childhood Center Soccer Field (100 North Sappington, 63122) on Tuesdays from 5-6 pm, beginning on Tuesday, March 26th. These practices will consist of a warmup, running games, and drills to practice the field events (standing long jump and softball throw).

The older runners (3rd grade through 8th grade) will practice alongside Holy Redeemer at Moss Field on Saturdays from 10 am - 12 pm. This practice will include both running (10 - 11 am) and field events (11 am - Noon). Start date TBD.


MEETS AND FINALS INFORMATION

  • Holy Redeemer’s NASH Dash April 13th at Moss Field. Time TBD
  • CYC Preliminary Meet May 11 at Chaminade High School, 425 S. Lindbergh Blvd (63131). Time TBD
  • CYC Finals Meet May 19 at DeSmet High School, 233 N. New Ballas Road (63141). Time TBD

COACHES NEEDED
We are in need of coaches for each age group as well as assistance with field events (long jump, high jump, or shot put). Volunteers are also needed to assist coaches at practices and meets. If you are interested, please let us know when you register.


All parents will be expected to volunteer during the NASH Dash, Prelim Meet, and Finals Meet.


REGISTER ONLINE AT www.mqpsports.org by using the following simple steps:
1. Click on "Login/Register" on the left side of the home screen at www.mqpsports.org.
2. Once at the Family Information screen click on "Registration Info" for each child
3. At the Registration screen, click "Register" and then go to Fees/Payments to pay. Kids will not be assigned to the team until payment is made. All payments for MQP Sports are now done online.
