Ash Wednesday Mass Times

Ash Wednesday opens Lent, a season of fasting and prayer. Ash Wednesday includes the practice of wearing ashes on the head, which symbolizes the dust from which God made us. As the priest applies the ashes to a person's forehead, he speaks the words: "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return."  The ashes also symbolize grief that we have sinned and caused division from God. Mass times on Ash Wednesday are at 6:45 am, 8 am, 9:15 am and 6:30 pm.

The Stewardship Mission Carnival is Tuesday, February 25th. Raffle prizes will include gift cards from popular locations.  Donations of other raffle prizes are needed by Friday, Feb. 21. We will have advance raffle ticket sales. Students will bring home three sheets of ten tickets per child.  Each sheet will cost $2. Please fill out and cut apart your tickets.  Return tickets and money in an envelope with your child’s name to the teacher. The best thing you can do for them as they approach the Sacrament of Confirmation is to pray for them! Join other moms and dads, grandparents and anyone else on Saturdays in the Msgr. Lubeley Room, where we will gather to read the Sunday Gospel, pray for every 8th grader by name, take up prayer intentions and visit. We even have coffee and donuts!

A special group of our MQP 8th grade Girl Scouts were recognized at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis for earning the Marian Award, also known and Mary, the First Disciple Award.  These young women completed a rigorous year of study and activities to learn more about the Blessed Mother.  Congratulation to Hope Bannes, Claire Baxendale, Kate Cooper, Maggie Duffy, Vivian Karpen, Gracie McCoy, Anna Moore, Mary Catherine Slinkard, Ava Tebo, Mia Tiburzi, Kaitlyn Torack, Gabby Van Ness, Sophie Ward, and Ruthie Wiegand.
