Change in Milk Prices

Posted on September 16, 2022 in: General News

Mary Queen of Peace School, as well as many parish schools across the Archdiocese of St. Louis, has been participating in the Special Federal Milk Program, through which the federal government has been offsetting the price of milk for all our students. After the school year began, the Office of Catholic Education and Formation for the Archdiocese of St. Louis made the decision to no longer participate in the Special Federal Milk Program. That means Mary Queen of Peace School will no longer receive funding to help offset the cost of milk.

In collaboration with Food Service Consultants, our cafeteria vendor, we have come up with a plan to continue to offer milk to our students during lunch time:

Beginning Monday, Oct. 3, all flavors of milk will cost 45 cents and will be sold a la carte.

Currently, a plate lunch with milk included costs $4.75. Milk will be removed from the plate lunch option, and the price of the plate lunch option will drop to $4.65. Milk can be ordered separately.

Please check your child’s food service account to make sure there is an appropriate balance in it for lunch. Please feel free to email communications@mqpwg.org with any questions you may have.
