Congratulations to our MQP 8th grade Girl Scouts for earning the Marian Award, also known as the Mary, the First Disciple Award.  These 11 girls learned more about Mary and themselves through a series of activities, a field trip, service project, role plays, interviews, reflections, and prayer.  When Mary was called by God to be the mother of Jesus, she was a young, innocent and scared girl -- the same age as our 8th grade girls!  By gaining a better understanding of who Mary truly was and how she lived her life, the girls learned how they can look to the Blessed Mother as a role model and turn to her throughout their entire lives for prayer, guidance, and to deepen their Catholic faith.
