Adopt a Soldier!

Posted on March 01, 2022 in: General News

The 5th grade is doing a fundraiser on behalf of their Stewardship theme, “Support of the Military.” The grade was privileged to hear a speaker from JCS, the Josuha Chamberlain Society. They learned first hand from a soldier who was a quad amputee what the JCS has done for him and his family. This organization helps those veterans who have been affected in some profound way after they return from war. JCS provides funds for medical bills, needs in their homes, service animals, assistance getting to doctors, therapy sessions, tuition assistance for their children and more. The best thing about JCS is they provide help to these men and women and their families for life!

The 5th grade would like to raise money through a fundraiser they are calling, “Adopt a Soldier.” With any donation of one dollar and up, a student will receive a plastic soldier. They should take this soldier they adopt, and place it somewhere prominent in the house as a reminder to pray for this soldier and all military here and abroad. The 5th grade students will come to the homerooms Thursday, March 3, and Tuesday, March 8 to collect donations and pass out a soldier to anyone who donates
